The Table Tennis team at YCIS Shanghai Gubei Campus is growing, with increased numbers of students actively taking part in the competitions this year. Practices started in the beginning of October, and students trained hard for the first tournament, ACAMIS, which took place from November 8 to 11 in Qingdao. Team Members spent about three days at the tournament playing singles, and doubles, and team games. This year, the YCIS girls received first for the team games, first for doubles, and second and third for singles.
On December 1, YCIS hosted the SISAC tournament for the first time. This tournament lasted for a full day, starting with the team bracket in the morning, then singles in the afternoon. The girls ended up with third place for singles, and second place for girls’ doubles.
On December 8, the YCIS boys’ team gathered for the CISSA Table Tennis tournament. Year 8 Student, Ryan, provided a descriptive recap of the day, “The tension in the air was rising, and in the gym, all players started their warm up practice really intensely. The first round started, and the competition was tooth and nail, but I have to say, the entire YCIS team looked stronger than ever!”
Great job to all of our student athletes!
