    • Congratulations to our students on receiving first place in this year's American Scholastic Mathematics Association (ASMA) competition!

Over a six‐month period, contests were given on one Thursday of each month, allowing our students to compete against other schools around the world. The best eight scores each month contributed to the YCIS Shanghai team score, making it possible for every student to contribute to a whole‐school effort. The total number of points that could be accrued for each contest was 56, a total of 336 points for the year

For the Junior Division, all YCIS Shanghai Year 9 students, as well as some Year 8 students, competed in these contests. For their strong performance of surpassing the 300-point mark, the Mathematics Department was notified that YCIS Shanghai is one of the few schools worldwide to receive a first place with special merit. For the Senior Division, some Year 11 and all Years 12 and 13 students competed. They, too, received sufficient points to earn them a first place status. Good work, YCIS Shanghai Mathematics students!
