Environment Week was one of the most enjoyable experiences of the school year. Even though I liked paperless homework, Waste Free Wednesday, and Green Dress Day, my favourite part of the week was doing the Environment Week Project with my two classmates from Year 6.

We were concerned about oil spills, and for the project, we had to find a creative solution to the problem. Our solution was to invent a vacuum cleaner that sucks up the oil after a spill, and the oil can be recycled for useful purposes.

I also liked other people’s projects, especially an advertisement about a new phone called the “ShakePhone” which would be charged if you shake it, helping to save energy. In addition, another presentation I liked was from the group which suggested planting trees on building rooftops in order to provide more green space for cities.

I liked creating this Environment Week Project because I could share my ideas for the future and how we could improve it. I hope that someday, through our hard work, the environment will be just as everyone wishes for it to be.
