Ziyou, Year 10, Gubei Campus
As a student who has been studying at YCIS for almost 12 years, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve been at this school for practically my whole life. Through my study here I have gained much, but what I value most are the supportive friends I have made at YCIS throughout the years.
Due to the fact that this is an international school, my classmates come from various nationalities and backgrounds. I have always cherished every one of my friends, but especially now that I have started in IGCSE do I truly understand how lucky I am to have such wonderful friends in the YCIS community.
Studying at the IGCSE level is a different experience than being in Lower Secondary school, and my friends here help me balance work and fun. The second I walk into the cafeteria at lunchtime I am greeted by my close friends, and I cherish that break time together. When a difficult test is coming up, I usually study over video with my friends on Skype so that we can help each other, and this is so useful if we need to better understand certain concepts or topics. This also helps me feel confident about upcoming tests, and also makes studying a lot more interesting and fun.
YCIS’s close-knit community of students and the opportunity to study in the IGCSE programme have taught me to be forever grateful for the friends I have met at school, who will always be there for me, no matter what.
