The fourth Annual YCIS Shanghai Charity Gala was held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Hongta Hotel in Pudong. One hundred and thirty guests revelled in the events of the evening featuring the theme “The Rhythm of Carnival”. Masks, feathers and beads embellished the ballroom and the attendees, as everyone enjoyed a wonderful dinner, a Brazilian band and dance, a lucky draw and an extensive silent auction.

The gala was the culmination of fundraising activities arranged by YCIS Shanghai’s Parent Organisation Pudong, which also included a Heart Wall featuring donations by students, a bake sale, and a book sale. A total of RMB 285,000 yuan was raised for Heart to Heart Shanghai, an organisation which provides heart surgeries to Chinese children in need. Eleven or more children will receive life-changing surgeries as a result of these efforts.
