“‘Tis the season”, and last weekend’s annual POP Christmas Bazaar at the Gubei Campus was a perfect start to this year’s holiday celebrations! The event, planned by the Parent Organisation of Puxi (POP), brought together shopping, games, food, and performances for the entire school community to enjoy.
The occasion was a fun and exciting way to start the Christmas season, with more than 80 vendors on campus to showcase their products and services, including holiday decorations, apparel, jewellery, and handcrafts. While parents shopped, children enjoyed playing the variety of fun games and activities available, including a bouncy castle, a balloon game, face painting, and much more. Throughout the day, the families enjoyed joyous performances, including Christmas caroling from the Hongqiao Campus Lower and Upper Primary choirs, as well as the POP choir.
Visitors also enjoyed a fantastic selection of international cuisine from Shanghai vendors, satisfying every palate. And what would a Christmas event be without the man of the season himself? Santa made an appearance at the bazaar, and children and their families were able to take photos with him to take home as a fond memory of the day.
The POP Christmas Bazaar is one of several large community events planned by YCIS’s parent community throughout the school year. To learn more about how else parents can get involved at the international school, click here.
