YCIS’s renowned violin programme remains at the foundation of the school’s well-rounded and diverse music programme. All children, aged 4–7, learn to play the violin at YCIS as part of school’s unique, research-based education concept that recognises that the violin helps students develop ear training, providing them with an advantage in learning tonal languages, such as Chinese. The violin also offers many additional benefits for children’s development, such as helping them develop a strong basis in music, performance skills, self-discipline, and attention to details. During the recent Spring Violin Concert, Primary students from Years 2 and 3 at the Hongqiao Campus delighted the audience with a fantastic performance.
