Recently, YCIS Shanghai was privileged to host both Dr Mary Hayden and her colleague, Professor Jeff Thompson, from the University of Bath as they visited all four campuses in Shanghai. Dr Hayden, Director of the Centre for the Study of Education in an International Context (CEIC) and Head of the Department of Education at the University of Bath, once identified the network of Yew Chung International School’s as a “unique grouping of international schools in the world” in her book, An Introduction to International Education.
YCIS has a very special relationship with Dr Hayden and Professor Thompson, who have both been widely published on the topic of international education. YCIS has received the focus and attention of these globally renowned scholars for its remarkable teaching and learning programmes, including the Co-Teacher and Co-Principal models. During their visits to the campuses, Dr Hayden and Professor Thompson spoke with school leaders, teachers, and students about their ongoing research, as well as the importance of YCIS’s teaching and learning contexts.
YCIS Shanghai is honoured to have hosted these international education experts on campus, and hopes that they have the opportunity to visit again in the near future. To learn more about the unique global education model at YCIS Shanghai, click here.
