    • Spring is here and Primary students at Hongqiao Campus and Secondary students at the Century Park Campus have been embracing the warmer weather. For their recent Sports Days, students have taken a break from classes to step outside and get physically active and build teamwork skills with their peers.

At the Hongqiao Campus Sports Day, Primary students participated in a wide range of fun activities, such as the high jump, shot put, water relay, javelin, and track running. Most of the sports events took place on the campus’ large sports field and track, with the high jump taking place inside the campus gymnasium. At the Century Park Campus, the high school students participated in rotational events, such as javelin, running, and the high jump. The whole campus also came together for the highly anticipated tug-of-war event as well as the 1500m Championship Race. The events at both campuses were part of school’s friendly House Competitions, where students’ results were a part of their house affiliation: Golden Tigers, Blue Mustangs, Red Phoenix, and Green Dragons.

Annual athletic events such as YCIS Sports Days are a part of the larger physical education curriculum for all students in Kindergarten, Primary, and Secondary. To learn more about athletic programmes at YCIS, click here.
