Last week, Century Park Campus had a very special guest. Mr Daniel Berdichevsky, Founder and Curriculum Director of the well-known World’s Scholar Cup, visited the campus to speak and have lunch with YCIS Secondary students involved in this popular Co-curricular activity. Mr Berdichevsky was joined by his team member, Ms Sara Syed, Assistant Outreach Director.
The World Scholar’s Cup is an international educational foundation that holds online and offline tournaments for students around the world. As a noted figure in international education, Mr Berdichevsky talked to the room full of students about his inspiration for starting the programme, and answered students’ questions about various aspects of the competition, including the reason behind the organisation’s mascot, the Alpaca. Ms Syed also added her insight, as a former World Scholar’s Cup participant herself. The students left the meeting and lunch enlightened and inspired to continue their involvement in the Co-curricular activity.
Students at Century Park Campus have previously been champions in Shanghai and Tokyo at World Scholar’s Cup events. To read more about our students’ past accomplishments, click here.
