Attendees at the annual Shanghai Expat Show were treated to the musical skills of YCIS Year 13 students Patrick and Isabelle. The duo performed in front of a standing-room-only crowd, drawing an abundance of applause. The performance was an opportunity for the students to demonstrate the music skills they had developed throughout their years in the YCIS music programme, and they further impressed the crowd when they introduced themselves and their programme in both English and Chinese.
Patrick and Isabelle are examples of the well-rounded students YCIS develops, as they are involved in everything from D1 Volleyball to leading roles in the school’ theatre production. Both students will take the stage again later this year, performing with their music groups in the YCIS Battle of the Bands competition. Head of Music, Ms Sally Davis, commented that, "The great thing about working with Patrick and Isabelle is that they approach performance not only with great enthusiasm, but always completely prepared, and very professionally. They are always keen to learn new music, so, over time, they have developed an impressive and diverse song list, and the benefits from having a large range of music will carry forward into their future."For more information on the YCIS music programme, click here.
