The annual YCIS Shanghai science fair at Gubei Campus has always been a hit, with senior students giving younger students and parents the opportunity to see (and experience) what they are learning first-hand, but this year the crowds were in droves!
In the Biology area, students helped attendees perform dissections, prepare slides, and test reaction times, and they were on hand to explain all of these and more about different biology topics to their younger friends. The Chemistry rooms were very entertaining as well, with students creating glow-in-the-dark materials, lava lamps, and quicksand. Making slime is always a favorite of the attendees, as is making candy from very basic chemicals and "cool" dry ice. In the Environmental Sciences room, guests were able to make recycled paper to take home, and the Physics area had a lunar lander, as well as some dancing goo! Students as young as Year 1 were completely mesmerised by the "cool science" they have in store ahead!
