Living up to its motto to align with culture and arts, YCIS Shanghai is proud to sponsor the tenth Shanghai International Literary Festival, hosted by M on the Bund. The festival will run from February 29 to March 18 and will be attended by bestselling author Amy Tan, Pulitzer Prize recipient Edward P. Jones and The Simpsons’ legendary creator Matt Groening.
In past years, YCIS Shanghai students had the joy of welcoming festival authors to share their works at the school. In 2010, children’s author Sarah Brennan came to YCIS Shanghai to read The Tale of Rhonda Rabbit, part of her book series based on the 12 Chinese zodiac animals.
Mr. Tom Ulmet, Superintendent of YCIS in Mainland China, expresses enthusiasm towards the sponsorship, “M Literary Festivals shares our value in cultivating our students’ appreciation for literature in all its forms. A venture that brings together talents from pop culture and the Pulitzer Prize circle encourages students to look beyond differences, a critical skill for the global citizens we nurture at YCIS.”
