This week saw the return of the Student-led Conferences. Students from Years 1 through 12 were very much excited and nervous about having an opportunity to “chat” with their parents about what they had learned so far at school. Families were found in every classroom, with conferences being conducted in all languages worthy of a UN convention.
At the end of the day, families were able to bring student portfolios home for further review and understanding. “We must admit that it was a really enjoyable experience going around the groups in both campuses and listening to the children sharing what they have been learning with their parents,” says Primary Co-ordinator Rob Watson. Adds Chinese Co-ordinator Amy Yang, “It has been an excellent experience for the students; it has helped them take a greater responsibility towards setting their goals and monitoring their own progress.”
