Corentin, Year 10, Gubei Campus

It’s been a very successful season for YCIS football at Gubei Campus. We took home the ACAMIS championship trophy for our Boys team, and we came in fourth place in the Girls competition. Travelling to Shenzhen for the tournament was an amazing experience, and we got to meet students from others schools across China. We had lovely hosts for our homestays who took great care of us and helped us enjoy our stay. Being able to meet up with students after the games also allowed us to interact with them and get to know each other better.

Overall, the trip was extremely fun. The spirit of competition was great and everyone felt amazing before every game and especially during the finals. There was a huge crowd watching us play as the penalty shootouts took place, and you could feel the tension in the air. When we heard the whistle telling us we had won our whole team celebrated like crazy! It was well deserved after all the effort we put in as a team throughout the football season. I would like to thank Mr. Newbery and Mr. Terrington for being amazing coaches and the rest of the team for making this season memorable.
