Setting My Own Stage at YCIS
Emily, Year 10, Century Park Campus Standing on a stage facing an audience of hundreds, all waiting, all expecting, with dozens of blinding lights focused on you as you stand alone, accompanied by nothing but trembling knees and a deafening pulse in your ears is quite an experience. One would ask why actors and actresses willingly put themselves through the inevitable process of stage fright, but the answer is simple: it’s the passion, the adrenaline, and the sheer thrill of transforming yourself into someone else for a matter of moments.
The Upcoming Sports Season at Century Park Campus
Matty, Year 9, Century Park Campus Well, after a successful Touch Rugby season, Century Park Campus is off to a yet another good start for the year. We look forward to numerous victories in all sport, and many students turning out to support our practices and matches.
My Experience in the Music Programme at YCIS
Melody, Year 12, Gubei Campus Owing to my experience in music training at YCIS, I have chosen the music Higher Level course in the IB Diploma Programme, which I enjoy greatly.
My Life at YCIS
Anita, Year 9, Century Park Campus Life at YCIS is a bit different from life at other international schools around the world. New Beginnings in IB
Spencer, Year 12, Century Park Campus The prospect of an intensive two years in International Baccalaureate (IB) programme is exciting and a bit overwhelming for our group of Year 12 students. Feeling quite capable after our success in IGCSE, we're starting to realise what new roles we've been elevated to as student learners and community leaders.
Battle of the Bands: Our Tradition
Kaetlin, Year 9, Gubei Campus Battle of the Bands has been a tradition at Gubei Campus for over 10 years. Not only is it competitive, it’s also fun! Battle of the Bands allows you to get to know new people and make new connections between yourself, the people around you, and the music.
Home Is Where the Heart Is
Celine, Year 13, Gubei Campus Growing up as an international school student in a metropolitan city as fast changing as Shanghai, I have learnt a very important lesson: people may come and go, but home is where the heart is.
