Thinking Big for Japanese People
At YCIS Shanghai, an entire week of awareness, fundraising and charitable work all started with a small group of Year 8s thinking big, wanting to change the world, wanting to help the people of Japan days after the multiple disasters of earthquake, tsunami and nuclear leakage that struck Japan in March.

Sixth Annual Global Child Day
Last week, approximately 1,100 students, parents, teachers and staff came to school on a Saturday to celebrate our sixth annual “Global Child Day”. The event was organised and run by Parents Organisation Pudong, and parents of all nationalities set up country booths where lots of different activities were organised to educate visitors about each country.

Thoughts with Japan
As a community that not only aligns with love and charity but also represents various nationalities, YCIS Shanghai responded wholeheartedly to the earthquake that hit Japan in March. From ECE through Secondary level, activities were planned by teachers and students alike to fundraise for those who have lost their homes in the disaster.
